SUEYEUN JULIETTE LEE grew up three miles from the CIA. Her work has appeared in journals such as MiPoesias, Glitterpony, 26, and Chain. Her first book. That Gorgeous Feeling, will be out next spring from Coconut Books. She also edits Corollary Press, a small chapbook series devoted to new work by writers of color.

JILL MAGI is the author of Threads (Futurepoem), a hybrid book of poetry, prose, and collage, Torchwood (Shearsman, forthcoming in early 2008), and the chapbook Cadastral Map (Portable Press at Yo-Yo Labs). Her visual work, essays, poems, and prose have appeared in HOW2, The Tiny, The New Review of Literature, Aufgabe, Jacket, anthologized in Fiction from the Brooklyn Rail, as well as in the forthcoming books Letters to Poets: Conversations on Poetry, Politics, and Community (Saturnalia Press), the )((eco (lang)(uage(reader)) (Portable Press at Yo-Yo Labs), and the 2008 Anthology of Younger Poets (Outside Voices). Jill’s visual work has been exhibited at the International Meeting of Visual Poetry, the Brooklyn Arts Council Gallery, and the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council Open Studios 2007. She lives in Brooklyn, teaches at The Eugene Lang College and Goddard College, and runs Sona Books, a community-based chapbook press.

Her father's role as lead attorney in Earth First! activist Judi Bari's civil case against the FBI prompted BERNADINE MELLIS to make The Forest for the Trees, her first documentary. Bernadine also directed The Odyssey, a collaborative adaptation of Homer's 24-chapter epic, made up of 24 shorts by 24 different mostly queer/trans/lady filmmakers. Her short experimental films include Born and Farm-In-The-City, a collaboration with sound artist EE Miller. Bernadine currently lives in Massachusetts, where she is teaching in the Film Studies department at Mt. Holyoke College for the year. She is on the Programming Committee of Philadelphia's Black Lily Film & Music Festival showcasing work solicited from an international, multi-racial, multi-cultural pool of women directors and producers.

The goal of Moles Not Molar is to put writers and artists pursuing exciting, innovative and experimental textual projects into contact and dialogue with each other and their diverse audiences, creating exposure and engagement across regional and generic lines. Come celebrate the release of Pocket Myths #4, THE ODYSSEY, with a screening and reading!

Films by Bill Basquin, Eileen Myles, Gretchen Hildebran, EE Miller, Dori Midnight, Kara Hearn, Miriam Klein Stahl, Paula Cronan, Juliana Snapper, Laurie Weeks, Corinna Press, Rebecca Lee, and many more!

Performances by Ida Acton, Amanda Davidson, Judith Jordan, Robin Coste Lewis, Miranda Mellis, Christian Nagler, sara seinberg, and David West.

THE ODYSSEY is a film and book collaboration curated by Bernadine Mellis and Andrea Lawlor, featuring work by mostly queer, trans, and women artists, retelling Homer's ancient epic of the aftermath of war. Almost half of the 75 contributors are from the Bay Area.

Pocket Myths #4, THE ODYSSEY is coming!

THE ODYSSEY, a collaboration between writer Andrea Lawlor and filmmaker Bernadine Mellis, and designed by Courtney Dailey, comprises a book and an accompanying film on DVD. The book functions as a dramatis personae of Homer's Odyssey, with each character represented by stories, poetry, or visual art by cutting edge writers and artists working in and between multiple genres. The film consists of 24 continuous shorts (in media ranging from stop-motion animation to live action, from abstract video art to found footage) telling the complete story of Homer’s 24-chapter epic.

Cynthia Nelson's work appears in both Cupid + Psyche and Orpheus. If you've heard the "The Wheel Stood Still" on the Orpheus CD, you should check out more of her music. If you haven't heard "The Wheel Stood Still," you should, obviously.

Homemade Map is now available for perusal and/or purchase on a new cooperative artists' website I started with two friends, nonstopco-op. You can simply buy CDs and receive them in the mail, or you can purchase a subscription which allows you to download 2 albums of music (plus more to come later this year) and receive CDs in the mail at cost if you so desire. Older CDs are also available, as is music by my co-op partners, Andrew Kaffer (formerly of Kissing Book) and Rocketship (Dusty Reske). Each artist has free MP3s that you can sample.
